Before you begin

Messenger Labs helps you receive and reply to Facebook & Instagram comments from inside Intercom.

What you need

  • An active Intercom workspace
  • A Facebook account with access to your business assets
  • A Facebook Page connected to the Messenger inbox you want to use
Setup Guide

How to connect Facebook & Instagram Comments

Follow these steps to connect your Facebook Page and start receiving Messenger conversations in Intercom.

Step 1

Open Messenger Labs inside your Intercom workspace.

Step 2

Click Connect Facebook Pages to begin.

Step 3

Sign in to Facebook with the account that manages your business assets.

Step 4

Select the Instagram accounts connected to your business.

Step 5

Select the Facebook Page you want to connect.

Step 6

Keep all requested permissions enabled during setup.

Step 7

Finish setup and send a test message to confirm it appears in Intercom.

Important notes

  • • You can only connect a Business Messenger, not a Personal Page.
  • • Keep the requested permissions enabled during the Facebook connection flow.
  • • If you manage multiple Pages, double-check that you selected the correct one.
Troubleshooting

Common setup issues

A few quick checks for the most common Messenger Labs connection problems.

Only one Facebook Page appears

Make sure the Facebook account you signed in with has admin or sufficient business access to the other Pages you expect to see.

Messages are not appearing in Intercom

Check that the correct Page was connected and that all requested permissions were accepted during setup.

The wrong Page was connected

Disconnect the channel, reconnect it, and carefully select the correct Page during Facebook onboarding.
